Set against the backdrop of a United Nations Space Command (UNSC) military academy, a group of cadets are training to be the next generation of leaders in the UNSC’s ongoing war with insurrectionists in the outer colonial planets. Among these cadets, Thomas Lasky struggles with his doubts about this war and with the burden of expectations he may not be able to carry.

As Lasky comes to terms with his potential as a military leader, the terrifying alien alliance known as the Covenant arrives and threatens to destroy everything he knows. When Lasky is rescued by the Master Chief, he must decide what it means to be a hero. “Halo” fans who experience Lasky’s thrilling origin story in “Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn” will be rewarded with special insights into the story of “Halo 4” and the “Halo Infinity Multiplayer” experience.

Back in July, we reported that Microsoft and Machinima have teamed up for the web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, a series of 15-minute episodes that tie in to the Halo 4 video game. The first two episodes have been released for your viewing pleasure. The series was originally slated to include five episodes, although it seems the rest are being held for the Blu-ray and DVD release December 4. COMIC-CON 2012: ‘Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn’ Live-Action Trailer

Microsoft and Machinima debuted the first trailer for Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn at San Diego Comic-Con earlier today. This web series will consist of five 15-minute episodes, debuting October 5 on Machinima.com, leading up to the highly-anticipated launch of the new Halo 4 video game on November 6. ‘Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn’ Set Photos Featuring Master Chief

Last month, we reported that the live-action web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn will debut this fall on Machinima.com, leading up to the release of Microsoft's highly-anticipated video game Halo 4. Today, we have three photos from the Vancouver set, which show the protagonist Master Chief standing tall with a blazing fire behind him. Check it out.

The web series will be split into five 15-minute episodes, which tells the story of Master Chief and his relationship with a young UNSC cadet, who becomes the leader of the UNSC Infinity spacecraft. The series will tie directly into the video game's story line. Halo 4 will be available November 6 for the XBox 360 gaming console, although it isn't known when the Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn series will debut.
