Linderman claims that God resides within, along with the answers which will come. Tracy startles Nathan - who's he talking to? Nathan claims he was just clearing his head.
“Dying of the Light”
At the Angry Skunk Bar, Knox demands that Hiro kill Ando as proof of his intentions. Hiro stops time and teleports to a magic shop, where he grabs a trick sword and a packet of fake blood. Then he teleports back to the bar two hours earlier to warn Ando that he will fake stab him later. Ando needs to trust Hiro, and pretend that he's dead.
“Eris Quod Sum”
In Africa, Ando tries to convince Hiro to go back in time to learn how to defeat the villains, but he adamantly refuses, claiming it will only make things worse. Usutu warns that time is running out; will Hiro choose his own path, or will it choose him?
Hiro eats a disgusting hallucinatory paste prepared by Usutu. His purpose? A spirit walk through the past to discover the history of today's villains. Hiro travels back in time 18 months to New York City, where Arthur and Angela Petrelli's 41st wedding anniversary party is underway.
Aware that Hiro has been dreaming about him, Arthur begins wiping his memory. Arthur gets distracted by Usutu's painting of the end of the world, giving Ando the opportunity to tackle Hiro and urge him to teleport them out of there. Ando tries to blink Hiro's eyes for him, but all Hiro can think about is waffles. As Arthur looms, Hiro manages to teleport away in the nick of time...
“The Eclipse, Part 1”
Eyes white, Arthur draws several images, but is most taken with a picture of H.R.G. holding a bloody Claire. Arthur proceeds to a storage room where Elle is training Sylar in the art of his new ability. Arthur tasks Sylar with retrieving Claire, and Elle insists on coming along to help. Meanwhile, Angela gets her own plan underway. Claire wants to fight, but Angela insists she's going underground with H.R.G.
“The Eclipse, Part 2”
Sandra brings Claire to the hospital. Claire's whole system is infected, and either she's never been sick in her life, or Sandra's lying about what happened. Meanwhile, Sylar and Elle make love. Sylar realizes that being free of both powers and parents offers a chance to reinvent himself, when suddenly H.R.G. opens fire on the couple. Elle is shot in the thigh as Sylar drags her out of the house, leaving a trail of blood behind.
Hiro teleports with Claire to Manhattan, 16 years ago. They hide, watching Kaito hand over baby Claire to a reluctant H.R.G. Claire peppers Hiro with questions, but since he still has the brain of his ten-year-old self, his English is very limited. When Hiro hears his mother Ishi's voice, he can't wait to see her. Not knowing what else to do, Claire runs after him.
Peter and Hiro rush to destroy the formula, while Sylar forces Claire to choose between saving her father or Angela.
“A Clear and Present Danger”
After the battle between Pinehearst and Primatech, Pete, Claire, Matt, and Daphne try to live normal lives, while a powerless Hiro tries to teach Ando how to use his new special ability and become a superhero. However, Claire discovers Nathan's plan to track down those with abilities.
“Trust and Blood”
Thirty-five hours after the cargo plane crashes, Nathan calls someone to explain what happened. Some of the prisoners escaped... Hiro runs for his life, falling off a short cliff where Mohinder and Matt are hiding from swarms of heavily armed agents. Hiro admits that he no longer has his powers; what's a hero to do? Mohinder thinks they should keep moving. Matt's eyes turn white and he runs off, so Hiro and Mohinder follow.
Sandra is happy that her family is finally together under one roof for breakfast, but the mood is tense. Claire glares at H.R.G. as Sandra and Lyle ask about his new job, which they hope will keep him home more. Claire receives a text from Rebel: a local target named Alex is in danger. Will Claire warn him? Claire texts no, then leaves the table in disgust as her father lies to Sandra about their so-called father-daughter Ivy League college tour. Maybe community college is a better fit for now...
Mohinder doesn't like Matt's plan to drug H.R.G. and plow through his memories, but Matt insists there's no other way to get the information they need. After dragging H.R.G. out of the bar, the guys bring him back to a motel room, tape him to a chair, and administer painkillers. Matt is instantly able to access woozy H.R.G.'s memories, which play in black and white.
Claire brings a sandwich to Alex, who's still hiding in her bedroom. Claire has stolen Sandra's grocery money to buy Alex a ticket to Albuquerque, where he can start a new life. Alex is skeptical; Claire's not Harriet Tubman, and the government is probably watching right now. When Sandra knocks on the door looking for her missing grocery money, it doesn't take long for her to discover Alex in the closet.
“Shades of Gray”
Claire is disgusted to behold Doyle in her kitchen. Sandra points out that agents are parked outside, but Doyle knows that Rebel sent them on a wild goose chase. He's already figured out that Claire has a free pass -- how can she turn her back on her own kind? Doyle pinches Claire and Sandra's mouths closed so he can explain what it's like to be on the run. Teary-eyed, Doyle releases the women and heads for the door. He's not going to force them to help -- that's not who he is anymore.
At home, Danko is in the bathroom shaving when an alarm goes off. Someone has opened the front door. Wiping the shaving cream off his face, Danko grabs a pistol to investigate, only to find Doyle strung up in his living room, in an approximation of his puppet theater. A red bow bears an anonymous tag reading "my gift to you." Although Doyle surely looks dead, he inhales noisily on his journey back to consciousness.
As agents ransack her bedroom, Claire is safe in Nathan's arms, on her way to Patzcuaro, Mexico, where they hole up in a one-star motel.
“Turn and Face the Strange”
At Building 26's temporary morgue, a suspicious H.R.G. unzips a body bag to check out what Danko insists is Sylar's naked corpse.
Angela uncovers the dark secrets of her past, while Mohinder learns of his father's involvement in a forgotten government operation.
“I Am Sylar”
Forty-eight hours prior to Nathan's live press conference, Agent Taub wakes up in his Washington, D.C. apartment. Taub looks in the mirror and morphs back into Sylar, pulling a bloody tooth out of his mouth.
“An Invisible Thread”
Nathan tries to prevent Sylar from meeting the President. Sylar has his own agenda regarding his partner. Hiro finds there are consequences that come with the return of his powers.
