Eleven teams of two will travel one of the most grueling courses ever assembled on the Race -- spanning 40,000 miles and nine countries in just 22 days. Teams will be faced with a multitude of extremes, including the world's second tallest bungee jump, bone-chilling Siberian temperatures, the suffocating heat of India, and an Olympic-sized challenge that leaves the teams gasping for air.
The Amazing Race’s first deaf contestant, Luke, made a strong statement by winning the first leg with his mother, Margie, as teams traveled to Locarno, Switzerland. A mistake by Christie & Jodi almost cost them the race, but a late surge by the flight attendants in a foot race to the mat sent dating couple Preston & Jennifer home instead.
When teams traveled to the German Alps, Mel appeared stranded on a mountaintop until a gamble paid off that propelled him and his son Mike to a second place finish. Meanwhile, Linda became desperately lost on a mountain trail ultimately leading to her and husband’s Steve elimination.
The remaining teams set off from the Pit Stop at the Schloss Hellbrunn in Salzburg, Austria and receive a clue instructing them to travel by train to Munich and then fly 700 miles to Bucharest, Romania.
The eight remaining teams set off from the Vila Panoramic and receive a clue instructing them to fly through Moscow to Krasnoyarsk, Siberia and then travel to the hydroelectric dam depicted on the back of Russia's ten ruble note.
On the icy streets of Novosibirsk, Russia, Tammy & Victor shocked their friends Margie & Luke and Cara & Jaime by ditching them after agreeing to work together. Margie & Luke had the last laugh when they won the leg while Christie & Jodi fell from first to last.
The chaos and confusion of Jaipur, India proved no match for lawyer siblings Tammy & Victor, who cruised to their second victory of the race. Meanwhile, a slow taxi and the Speed Bump task hampered flight attendants Christie & Jodi who were the fifth team eliminated.
The blazing hot sun of Thailand took its toll on Margie as she collapsed on the mat after a strenuous leg. Meanwhile, brothers Mark & Michael thought they’d won the leg, but two penalties pushed them down to third place. Sibling lawyers Tammy & Victor won the leg and father and son Mel & Mike came in last.
After a difficult last leg, mother and son Margie & Luke soared back into first place while brothers Mark & Michael made critical mistakes resulting in two two-hour penalties and a last place finish.
The race heated up in Guilin, China as Jen and Luke scuffled at two clueboxes leading to an explosive Pit Stop, where Margie accused the sisters of laughing at her son while he signed. After the dust settled, brothers Mark & Michael were eliminated from the race.
Cara endured a painful foot massage in Beijing to help propel her team into the lead, but she and Jaime received a shock on the mat from Phil. Meanwhile, Jen’s fear of water sunk her team which fell into last place.
With the Pit Stop and a final three berth in sight, Jen stopped to use a bathroom allowing Jaime & Cara, who spent most of the leg in last place, to sneak past them and slide into the final three with Margie & Luke and Tammy & Victor.
TAMMY & VICTOR WIN After getting off to a smashing start, mother and son Margie & Luke seemed to have victory within their grasp until Luke hit the Roadblock. Luke became frustrated as he watched his lead disappear as Victor surpassed him and, along with his sister, claimed the title of winner of THE AMAZING RACE 14.
