"""The Biggest Loser"" returns with a bang for season 13 when the contestants arrive at the ranch and get one of the biggest surprises ever in the series' history. They arrive in teams of two, eager to change their lives together, but they're shocked to discover that they will not only be split up -- they will also be competing against the person they came with.
Season 13 kicks off with 20 new contestants and a brand new twist to the game!
Get ready for a poker-playing pop challenge and an educational trip to the grocery store!
Video chats from home, a tempting Chinese food buffet, face-offs in the gym and a shocking decision - and it's only Week 3!
The teams battle for rights to the gym, and the competition between Bob and Dolvett gets hotter!
The Aqua Team returns to weigh in - will Adrian and Daphne make it back to the ranch?
Following Nancy's elimination from the ranch after the latest weigh-in, the animosity on the red team between Adrian and the rest of the team members continues.
Host Alison Sweeney surprises the contestants with the news that one player from each team will be going home with their trainer - and that player's weight will be the only one that counts at this week's weigh-in. It's also Valentine's Day at the Biggest Loser ranch, and that means letters from loved ones go to the team who digs their way under an obstacle course of logs first with a 200 lb. dummy along for the ride, representing the contestant who has gone home.
This week, the contestants are faced with a temptation involving their favorite foods, with the winner gaining game-changing power to arrange the two teams however they like - and remain anonymous. After an unpopular decision is made to switch up the teams, tensions rise and suspicion grows about the real identity of the temptation winner. Then the red and black teams race against time and each other to assemble a giant puzzle on top of eight-foot tall blocks, with the winning team getting a very special prize.
The players return home for 18 days with a challenge to lose 5% of their body weight - and win immunity!
The teams switch trainers in a move designed to get them out of their comfort zones. Elsewhere, one trainer tries ballet; and the teams navigate a mud pit to locate weight plates in a messy challenge.
The teams are dissolved, leaving the nine remaining players to compete on their own. Later, a tug-of-war contest finds the contestants competing for a shopping spree with Jessica Simpson; a trainer helps a player face her fear of heights; and a contestant turns the tables on a trainer.
The eight remaining contestants head to the tropical paradise of Hawaii for an action-packed week that will address the excuse "I can't lose weight on vacation." After being warmly welcomed to Oahu with a luau, the players compete in a trivia challenge that awards the winner a cash prize which can be spent on a menu of items. Next it's off to the breathtaking Kualoa Ranch where "Jurassic Park" was filmed and there the contestants race through a challenge involving tikis and leis for the coveted prize of immunity. Later, a young woman who epitomizes "no excuses" - real-life "Soul Surfer" Bethany Hamilton - teaches the contestants and trainers how to surf. Then at Pearl Harbor, with the USS Missouri in the background, the contestants weigh in to reveal whether they were able to lose weight on vacation before another player is sent home. Alison Sweeney hosts the series and trainers Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince also star.
Season 12 favorites Antone, Becky and Vinny return to judge a cooking contest and offer the players advice. Elsewhere, the contestants' exercise routines are spiced up with a Zumba class and mountain biking; and the players load food onto trucks during a pop challenge.
The eagerly-anticipated makeover episode is here, and this season, it's bigger than ever! After the six remaining players compete in a challenge by shattering glass pane images of their former selves from week one on the ranch, the makeover fun begins. Fashion expert Jeannie Mai helps each contestant find stylish new clothes to flatter their slimmer selves, but first she shares a very big surprise -- a special video message from First Lady Michelle Obama inviting the players to come to the White House! Thrilled at the chance to go to the White House to meet with the First Lady, a longtime advocate for health and fitness, especially for our nation's children, the contestants have fun choosing their makeover outfits with Mai. Then they're off to the salon of celebrity stylist Ken Paves, who crafts stylish new looks for the players before they head to Washington, D.C. There, at the White House, family members are waiting to surprise them and see their amazing transformations in heartwarming, emotional reunions before they meet the First Lady.
In part two of the series' biggest makeover episode yet, the six remaining contestants get to meet First Lady Michelle Obama, whose Let's Move! initiative focuses on solving the problem of childhood obesity. The First Lady talks to the contestants about how adult behavior impacts kid behavior, congratulates the contestants on being good examples of health and fitness, and visits with each player and their family members. Then it's time for a workout they'll never forget as trainers Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince lead the First Lady, the contestants and their families through "The Biggest Loser's" first ever White House workout. Mrs. Obama also challenges the contestants with a competition to get more Americans healthy and active. Later, Bob tries to help a player who turns to food for comfort to deal with the stress of worrying about a loved one at home, and Dolvett puts contestants through a scenic last chance workout in front of the U.S. Capitol at the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial. Then their amazing trip to D.C. is over and they return to the ranch to weigh-in before another player is sent home.
This week, a surprising turn of events shakes up the competition, and the contestants compete in a rough and wild short version of a "Tough Mudder" competition. But they won't be doing it alone - with them will be the show's three most recent winners John Rhode, Olivia Ward and Patrick House. Host Alison Sweeney helps motivate the remaining contestants by telling them the player with the highest percentage of weight loss at the weigh-in will win a Ford Escape SUV. Later, the players stroll down memory lane with the trainers and watch video journeys of how far they've really come from their first day on the ranch before an emotional weigh-in determines which player will walk away with a brand new car.
The stakes are higher than ever when all the eliminated contestants return to the ranch to compete in a fateful, four-part challenge. The challenge winner will secure a coveted spot as a finalist, and the chance to compete for the $250,000 grand prize, along with the other two finalists revealed in last week's episode. It's a fight to the finish with each player fiercely determined to get back in the game in a competition that will put their speed, knowledge and endurance to the ultimate test.
After weeks of intensive competition and hard work, one contestant earns the title of "The Biggest Loser."
