Simon Cowell, infamous American Idol judge and creator of the UK talent search series The X Factor is set to launch the American version of the show on FOX in 2011. Here's hoping he finds another Susan Boyle on American soil.

Rihanna Set to Perform on ‘The X Factor’ November 17th

Global superstar Rihanna, who joined Antonio Reid during The X Factor's "Judges' Homes" round, will perform her newest No. 1 smash hit We Found Love on The X Factor results show Thursday, Nov. 17 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

We Found Love is Rihanna 's lead single from her upcoming Island Def Jam album release, Talk That Talk, which will be available Monday, Nov. 21. Rihanna made Billboard history earlier this month, when We Found Love became her 11th No. 1 hit on the Hot 100 and her 20th Top 10 hit. She collected her 20 Hot 100 Top 10 singles faster than any other solo artist - six years and four months - as reported by The time span beat Madonna's previous record by five months, and places Rihanna second only to The Beatles. Additionally, {no_tv|We Found Love" gives Rihanna her 16th No. 1 Billboard Dance single.

‘The X Factor’ Renewed for Season 2 on Fox

Fox has ordered a second season of unscripted series The X Factor, it was announced today by Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.

Over the course of the 20 hours that have aired, The X Factor has emerged as the No. 1 reality series on broadcast television this fall and is outperforming returning hits like Survivor by +27%, Dancing with the Stars by +38%, The Amazing Race by +47% and The Biggest Loser by +104%. In addition, The X Factor is one of the top three new series and one of the top ten shows overall this season. Averaging more than 13 million viewers, The X Factor has significantly improved Fox's year-over-year time period performance on Wednesday and Thursday nights among total viewers by +78% and +38%, respectively, and among Adults 18-49 by +37% and +41%. Additionally, thanks to The X Factor, Fox is now No. 1 among Adults 18-49 on Thursday nights for the first time in the network's history.

Fox Premiere Dates Announced for 2011-2012 Fall Season

Fox has set the fall premiere dates for its new and returning series. The 2011-2012 season will kick off with the biggest night in television, the 63RD The Emmy Awards, airing live in all time zones on Sunday, Sept. 18 (8:00-11:00 PM ET / 5:00-8:00 PM PT) on Fox.

‘The X Factor’ Loses Cheryl Cole and Gets Nicole Scherzinger

Fox's new reality music-competition series The X Factor has not even hit the air yet, and has already had to drop one of its judges, Cheryl Cole, and has replaced her with one of the hosts, Nicole Scherzinger.

Fox Announces 2011-2012 Fall and Midseason Schedule

Peter Rice, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group; and Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, today unveiled the FOX primetime schedule for the 2011-2012 television season to the national advertising community during its annual Programming Presentation at The New Beacon Theatre.

Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell Reunite for ‘The X Factor’

Paula Abdul is reuniting with Simon Cowell on The X Factor. Judges Cheryl Cole and Antonio "L.A." Reid have already signed on for the highly-anticipated singing competition, which began taping Sunday in Los Angeles and will debut on Fox in September.

Simon Cowell has been adamant in several British media interviews that he wanted his former American Idol sparring partner on The X Factor panel, so it remained a near-sure thing that some kind of deal could be worked out.
