NBC Cancels ‘Heroes’, ‘Mercy’ and ‘Trauma’ It seems the heroic four-season run of a once-popular NBC series has come to an official end. The Live Feed is reporting that NBC has officially canceled Heroes.

It was said that the network was mulling over options for a shortened final season to give some closure to the remaining fans of the show, but it was ultimately decided that it wasn't worth it. However, Deadline Hollywood is reporting that NBC is, "working on a way to wrap up the show. That will be determined after the upfront." The site believes that could mean a possible two-hour or four-hour TV movie that will finalize the series. The network's upfront presentation is on Monday and we'll be sure to keep you posted on any further details on a Heroes TV movie.

NBC Orders More Scripted Episodes to Fill in for ‘The Jay Leno Show’

With NBC's primetime experiment The Jay Leno Show ending, the network is ordering more scripted fare to fill in the gaps. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has ordered more episodes of several of its primetime series'.

Law & Order received an order for three more episodes while spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit picked up two more episodes. Thursday comedies Community got three more episodes and Parks and Recreation received two additional episodes also while the formerly-canceled Trauma received four new episodes also.

NBC Reveals Post-Leno Spring Schedule

NBC unveiled its new post-Winter Olympics primetime program schedule today. The new drama series Parenthood will premiere on Tuesday, March 2 (10-11 p.m. ET) and the comedy panel series The Marriage Ref from Jerry Seinfeld will premiere Thursday, March 4 (10-11 p.m. ET) after its sneak preview on Sunday, February 28 (10:30-11 p.m. ET) following NBC's coverage of the Closing Ceremony of the Winter Olympics.

In addition, the new alternative series Who Do You Think You Are? from Lisa Kudrow will premiere Friday, March 5 (8-9 p.m. ET) and the new game show Minute to Win It joins the lineup on Sunday, March 14 (8-9 p.m. ET). Also, Friday Night Lights will begin a new broadcast season on NBC on Fridays (8-9 p.m. ET) starting April 30 after Who Do You Think You Are? concludes its run.

NBC Cancels ‘Trauma’

While NBC had already renewed one of its medical dramas, the other will be no more. According to Variety, NBC has given the axe to Trauma.

The series was absent from last week's pickups of Community, Parks and Recreation and fellow medical drama Mercy, which never tends to bode well for a new series. The series will cease production after its initial 13-episode order is completed.
