The Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon has already revealed that Ultron is getting a new origin story. Now, the director a more detailed account of what that means for the villain, who will not be quite as powerful as he is in the comics, Basically, he will be a more grounded character, especially considering that he is a robot.

"As a character, I love him because he's so pissed off. I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He's always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he's got a bee in his bonnet. He's not a happy guy, which means he's an interesting guy. He's got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we'll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who's a witch."

We still have no word on who may play this grounded, sentient robot, but with production slated to begin in February, we may find out sooner rather than later. Marvel's The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner are said to return for the sequel, along with a host of new characters.
