Uma Thurman has become the latest to join the growing cast of The Nymphomaniac. No character details were given for her role, although this will mark her first time starring in a Lars von Trier movie.

Charlotte Gainsbourg stars as Jo, a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who is found badly beaten by an aging bachelor (Stellan Skarsgård). After recovering from her injuries, she tells her erotic life story to the old man. Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen, Nicolas Bro, Jesper Christensen, and Jens Albinus also star.

Lars von Trier is directing from his own original screenplay, with production currently under way in Cologne, Germany. This drama will be told as a two-part film, each getting a separate soft and hardcore version. A 2013 release is being planned.

Uma Thurman was last seen in Bel Ami and on the NBC series Smash.
