The finale episode of The Umbrella Academy Season 2 ended with the shocking revelation of a completely altered timeline and the existence of the Sparrow Academy, including the very much alive, but emo Ben (with rather hostile vibes). Just like the OG Hargreeves siblings, we too had been in the dark about the identity of the rest of the Sparrows. But not anymore as Netflix has finally debuted the cast of the Sparrow Academy, along with a detailed description of the characters they will play.

In the second season of The Umbrella Academy, it was confirmed that apart from the seven Hargreeves siblings - Vanya, Diego, Number Five, Allison, Vanya, Klaus, Ben, and Luther- there are more superpowered individuals out there, born on the same day as they were. So, after the group first went back in time to escape the apocalypse in 2019, only to race to avert the same in 1963 and losing the spectral form of Ben in the process, they managed to return to 2019.

But their actions in the past have significantly altered the present where Sir Reginald Hargreeves is alive and as he was not really impressed with their antics in the 60s, he has also adopted an almost different set of individuals to form the Sparrow Academy. So, when the Hargreeves siblings reach their home they are greeted by a rather smug Reginald, an openly antagonistic version of Ben, five more people who quietly survey the situation from above, and a floating green cube that appeared to be more than just a piece of decoration.

While the Sparrow Academy is obviously going to have its own Number one to seven with their unique set of powers, all Netflix has released for now is the name of the actors of who will be part of the group that has replaced the Umbrella Academy in the present- Justin H. Ming, Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Genesis Rodriguez, Cazzie David, Jake Epstein and of course, the best of them all, the "Existential Dread Inducing Psykronium Cube."

The announcement also comes with a description of their characters, sans the powers they possess. Like the new Ben (played by Justin H. Min) is going to be nothing like "the sweet Ben we know and love." As Number Two in the Sparrow Academy, he will instead be a "Machiavellian tactician, wrapped up in a pretty boy body with a rumbling inner-squid. Vicious, pragmatic, and hyper-vigilant- Ben is determined to gain his status as the leader at all costs."

Justin Cornwell (Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey) plays Marcus, is Number 1, and has been described as "charming, chiselled, colossus." He matches Luther through his many qualities- he is "honest, virtuous, and demanding" and the automatic leader of the Sparrows.  "Marcus keeps the family together. Graceful but lethal, calculated but compassionate, he is as smart as he is strong. Marcus is disciplined, rational and in control. He oozes confidence and leadership without ever having to raise his voice," reads the character description.

Britne Oldford (Hunters) has been cast as Fei who is Number 3. She is gives mixed vibes all the time- she appears to be someone who shuns society and hates other people but "wishes she had a friend." While she is "the smartest person in the room and willing to work things out," the moment you cross her, she develops a one-track mind that is focused on getting even.

Next, we have Jake Epstein of Suits as Number Four and named Alphonso. Despite being an ace fighter, who has fought countless battles and has multiple scars that serve as a reminder of the same, he prefers "verbally battering anyone foolish enough to get in his face." He mostly hangs out with Cazzie David's (New York Times best-selling author of "No One Asked for This") Jayme, Sparrow Number Six, who is smart and sharp but more of a loner. She is someone who likes to say less and let her "fear-inducing snarl" do the talking.

Number 5 is The Fugitive star Genesis Rodriguez's Sloane who is very different from her siblings as she is "a romantic and a dreamer" eager to see the world outside the life she has grown up in. And even though the responsibility she feels towards the Academy and the "fear of crossing the family line" keeps her from living her aspirations, she plans to carry them out one day.

But the most formidable Sparrow of them all is Number Seven, who is an "Existential Dread Inducing Psykronium Cube," known as Christopher by his siblings. Whether he became a cube or was already one, to begin with, Christopher's origins are still dubious. But unlike the rest of the Sparrows, his powers have been explained in detail.

"He can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear. He acts as the Sparrows' consulted oracle who hands out incredible advice and serves as the family mediator. Trustworthy, loyal, and is treated by the Sparrows like any other sibling, Christopher is a force to be reckoned with."

Though that's all the info Netflix has shared about the mysterious Sparrow Academy, given their introduction in the last season, it is obvious that the lack of a loving and caring guardian like Grace or Pogo has left them with anti-social skills and rather untrusting of new people. The cast reveal also puts to rest the speculations that Lila or Harlan will be one of the Sparrows. But despite this, the Umbrella Academy is going to have a lot on its plate in Season 3 which will begin filming in February 2021. The news comes to us via Deadline.
