We reported last month that Tom Hanks was set to star in and direct a new film and now that film has found a studio home. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures will distribute Larry Crowne, in which Hanks will star in with Julia Roberts.

Hanks will direct the film, his first directorial effort since the 1996 film That Thing You Do, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Nia Vardolos. Hanks and his Playtone Pictures company produced Vardalos' breakout hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

The film is set to begin production this April in Los Angeles. It wasn't clear when the film was being targeted for release.
