Universal Pictures: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures is reshuffling its 2005 release lineup. It is shifting The Interpreter, the Sydney Pollack-directed thriller starring Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn, from February 18th to April 22nd.

Joss Whedon's sci-fi western Serenity, which had originally been set for April 22nd, is moving to September 30th.

Jarhead, Sam Mendes' war drama, has been pushed back from September 30th to November 11th.

The studio will also open the thriller The Skeleton Key July 8th and the comedy The 40-Year Old Virgin November 23rd, a Wednesday.

The studio said the changes were made to maximize exposure and give the releases the best competitive advantage as possible.
