UPDATE: 10/26/10 2 PM PSTThe Hollywood Reporter has more casting news on the movie, with Casey Affleck and Judd Hirsch also joining the movie. Casey Affleck will play a friend of Ben Stiller's character and a fellow employee who disagrees with the heist and wants to turn him in.

Judd Hirsch's character wasn't revealed. The site did clarify that Matthew Broderick's character does in fact join the gang in their plot to rip off Alan Alda's character, after he loses is Wall Street job due to the financial scandal.

Original Story:Deadline reports that Brett Ratner's new movie Tower Heist has added yet another cast member in Matthew Broderick.

Matthew Broderick will portray Chase Fitzhugh, a Wall Street maven who has his accounts emptied by Alan Alda's notorious villain, a character whose high-level thievery resembles that of real-life white-collar criminal Bernie Madoff. The plot revolves around Ben Stiller's working class handiman, who gathers the disgruntled and ripped-off employees of the high-rise building where Alan Alda is serving house arrest, to take back their hard-earned money which was stolen in the scheme. It wasn't clear if Matthew Broderick's character will be a part of the actual heist, or if he is just another victim portrayed in the movie.

Brett Ratner is directing from a script by Jeff Nathanson, who is rewriting the original script by Ted Griffin. Production will start sometime next month in New York City.
