Saw it in IMAX 3D last night, not normally something I'd do, but in this case the gamble was well worth it. It looked astonishing in 3D (probably the best post-conversion I've ever seen) and the film itself was the most fun I've had at the movies in a long time. Definitely a supreme Marvel entry to the Avengers.
I've terribly excited for this film, and yet significantly hesitant to expect anything more than great action and an interesting concept. The plot could easily get muddled, the alien war in particular being an easily "f*ck-up-able" story factor, and I've heard they've taken quite a few liberties with the story it's based off of ("All You Need is Kill"). Then again, it just looks to damn cool to not want to see.
I'm hoping Domhall Gleeson gets it. That guy's definitely underrated.
Sorry for the late reply, @ejk1! The new MW layout took some getting used to. Now that I've acclimated and have a minute to spare, I can honestly say things have been a bit busy if not monotonous on my end. Work is oftentimes tedious, writing on the side is as challenging as ever, and you can probably tell I've barely finding time to visit the site every now and then. How've you been? Still frequenting the site? Being a lawyer working out okay? It's certainly been a while.
Another saddening loss of an industry icon. Note that he's had these complications and issues for a while and yet managed to keep it relatively out of the press. Other celebrities get a parking ticket and its practically everywhere you look on the news and in tabloids... *le sigh* I give the man even further props after learning of that. We'll miss you Ramis. Stripes, Ghostbusters, and Groundhog Day are among favorites to watch with my old man. R.I.P.
