So far nothing wrong. So what will it be a movie or a new TV series like Five-O is.
Without the character Duke, get ready for a bad box office for the next G.I. Joe movie. I remember when I was still in high school, and the G.I. Joe animated movie came on or was talked about way before it came on T.V.. No G.I. Joe viwers and comic book readers wanted Duke dead at all. And it was a big deal. Back then everyone already a stinch about the death of Optimus Prime in the animated movie. All they have to do is get someone else to play Duke not Channing Tatum. One thing is do today's G.I. Joe fan see it that way or react that way.
As I was was watching the trailer I'm not even sure do I like it, don't or only so much that I like. All I know is a good close to the real world type spy movie has alot of drama and suspense and only when needed then there will be action. Over at both movieweb and Imdb they say Jack Ryan is a Covert CIA Analyst, which there is no such thing at all. As we all know there are CIA Analyst(which Jack Ryan is), CIA Operation Officer and CIA Operation Officer In Special Activities Division(which John Clark is). Anyway Jack Ryan is just like former Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates, who tried out traing to be a regular CIA Operation Officer for a day. When he was working at CIA early in his career. He when and talk to them to switch to over to be a analyst. The only different is Ryan got a taste of it out in the field and did not want to switch over at all. I don't know, but are the film makers trying to use a little or so much of the super spy formula into the movie, like Vince Flynn who does that in his novels, which is something Tom Clancy does not do at all.
Now all is needed is John Woo to direct the movie. Then it be a hell of action movie. We get to see a action scence with 1500 bullerts fired and 30 dead bodies. Also the dodging bullet sand jumping foward to fire shots, be done like dance moves, and sometime in slow mo.
Whatever do, they should get John Woo to direct the movie, and use his action trade mark. I want to see that 1500 bullets fired in one action scence and like 40 dead bodies.
IF Stallone wants 10,000-20,000 bullets fired in one scence and with like 15-32 dead bodies, then he should bring in John Woo. IF he don't care for that kind of a action scence, and only a basic one like in Eraser, Lethal Weapon, Universal Soldier, Mark For Death and Taken, then Mel Gibson would be fine.
Hope this movie is NOT using the super spy(in another word super hero spy) theme, where the plot can be far-fetch. I want it to be close to the real world type spy. Where the movie makers have to get the stuff right and understand them, like Tom Clancy and John Le Carre would need to in writing spy novels. Another thing is this movie is reminding me of Dale Brown's novel Act Of War. I never read it but know the plot line and summary of it.
Cool stuff, I would sure like win them. It always great and fun to watch movies that are docudrama on the FBI and Police going after the mafia. This will be another great mob movie just like Donnie Brasco, Casino, Dillinger, Al Capone, Lansky and Public Enemies.
It better NOT win the weekend box office or part of the weekend top 10. Movies like Skyfall, Argo and Lincoln better kick that movie off the top 10 weekend box office, and NOT just to number 11, 12 or 13 spot. Because that is still big wrong. More like to 20 or 24, that should be about right. Movies like Skyfall, Argo and Lincoln need do their job and make it happen.
It is just sad with Skyfall being no. 1, it still DID NOT kick The Man With The Iron Fists off the top 10 list. This coming weekend it really needs to do that to The Man With The Iron Fists and the new Twilight movie.
Hopfully it will majorly destory the last Twlight movie that comes out next friday and continue to majorly destory The Man With The Iron Fists at the Box Office. But IF it can try not to hurt Argo too much at the box office. It's a good real spy story, about the history in U.S. Intelligence Warfare.
