how has no one pointed out that the title of the article says they play SHERLOCK and HOLMES?!?! come on Movieweb, that was a dumb dumb mistake. Anyway each episode is already like a movie, but it is so damn good that i wouldn't complain either.
@supermanvenom agreed. Everyone pissed and moaned about heath ledger, then the movie came out and everyone praised him. everyone pissed and moaned about Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, then the movie came out and everyone loved them both. ppl need to calm down, and Ben Affleck is very underappreciated. The Town, Gone Baby Gone, and Argo are all awesome. Yeah he made a few sh*tty movies earlier in his career but in the last like 7 years he has made all good sh*t.
@narrator but the thing that i heard awhile ago was that Edgar Wright's Antman movie would follow Eric O'Grady instead of Hank Pym. Eric O'grady being a SHIELD agent who steals the suit and shenanigans ensue. This would work for Edgar Wright's film making style, lending itself easily for comedic moments, and tweaking the character slightly he could nerd out about having this crazy new suit. Also Hank Pym could then be introduced as the inventor of the Antman technology while he goes by one of his other alter-egos, Giant Man. So yeah Pegg would work to play O'Grady, and would be a very interesting choice for Pym. that said, Pegg was probably just messing with the internet and trying to repeat the reaction ppl had to Vin Diesel.
@Zach-Chappelear i agree this is starting to sound like just another mutant movie based around wolverine. which in turn really disappoints me.
@WalterWhite spider-man is tied with batman for the best rogues gallery in comics, in my opinion.
i was with him til he said the x-men's quinjet. they fly the black bird, the avengers have the quinjet, that movie makes no sense now.
Norman Reedus would be great, i can't believe he is 42 though, he looks way younger to me. and RDJ is easily replaceable. not to knock him or take anything away but i mean common he wasn't on anyone's radar before iron man and this role could do the same for someone else. but either way RDJ probably won't retire from the role, cuz they will offer him a fatty pay check and he will come back.
@ROFLitschristian are u saying that this is a bad move on Batista's part? like he could get in better movies, but he picked this movie for the money?
@raoulduke33 dude that does sound awesome. i hope the apocalypse stuff is just red herring, they should learn from X3 and not try and cram so much into on movie. plus anyone notice that this article clearly seems written by someone who knows nothing about apocalypse..."including the Age of the Apocalypse arc that featured time travel and alternate histories" besides if they were going to title the movie after the storyline that it is based on, this movie would then be called "X-men: Age of Apocalypse" based on what this article is saying.
@shuabert he is muscle, but like wolverine in space muscle. he has to be able to say dialogue well and be believable. he isn't just dumb muscle.
I think someone like Kevin Durand would be a good fit, we was in Lost toward the end of the show and Legion as the bad guy angel, although that movie sucked. anyway he is a big guy who can act, and if he just bulked up a bit like @narrator was saying, he would be perfect i think. plus he wouldn't be as expensive as other ppl who would be good for the role, like say Tom Hardy, because Durand isn't a household name or a leading man yet.
@bawnian-dexeus dang u beat me to the smallville reference, that was all i was thinkin lookin at these picks. that was the one thing i hated about smallville. y have him always in superman's colors, like the audience is goin to forget or something. anyway it doesn't bother me terribly, but i find it stupid.
@themoviefanatic I think u might misunderstand the hulkbuster armor. it isn't for the hulk to wear it is for fighting the hulk. Tony wears it to be like a tank. so it wouldn't need to be hunched for the hulk to fit in it...u know?
Tomorrow Ryan Gowlsing will be added to the list of potentials, then Channing Tatum, then Christian Bale, then Sean William Scott, then Jim Sturges again, then Will Smith and everyone is gunna flip cuz he is black and you can't swap races like that it ruins the character, then Leonardo DiCaprio will be mentioned, then James Franco. and like two months from now Brandon Routh will be announced as the lead...
yeah i hate when people repeat things that i have said word for word and then it makes me look dumb.
I loved In Bruges, so hopefully this will be good too. it looks good from this trailer. Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson and Christopher Walken, great cast, and personally i like Colin Ferrel too.
@shuabert Yeah Slither and Super...ooooohh u were implying they aren't good.... Honestly Marvel hasn't disappointed me yet, even the two movies that are more widely considered less good, Iron Man 2 and Incredible Hulk, I thought were awesome. So I am trusting their choices.
also it is unrealistic to think that every Avengers character is big enough to support a movie, the ones i listed in the previous post are perfect examples of characters that couldn't hold a movie but as a cast of heroes in a tv show would work. just think about this for a sec. one of the most requested villains for a x-men film is apocalypse. but u will never see him cuz he is too unbelievable and would take too much time to explain properly. but with a show those types of villains and ideas can be explained throughout a season. again this is all if it is done right and made well, it could very easily be made by sh*tty ppl, but i trust marvel and i think they will get it right.
