EuropaCorp has released three new images and a brief preview for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets in anticipation of the first trailer, which debuts tomorrow morning. These photos do not feature main stars such as Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne, but give us a glimpse at one of the unique settings in Luc Besson's new sci-fi thriller. These photos reveal a new look at the massive city Alpha and its Big Market, along with an alien race known as the The Kortan Dahuk.
The first photo from EuropaCorp features the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha's seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of their citizens. The second photo gives us a look inside the Big Market, the largest commerce center both on Alpha and in the universe. With over one million stores, the market is a massive tourist attraction which exists in alternate dimension.
The third and final photo features The Kortan Dahuk, the first extraterrestrial race to dock with the Alpha Space Station in the year 2135. They hail from the planet of Kas-ônar, 5,000 light-years from Earth. Organized by the quest for harmony and beauty, they are a well-traveled race with great experience and interaction with other species. Hopefully the new trailer from Luc Besson's sci-fi thriller sheds some light on how The Kortan Dahuk interacts with the two main stars, Valerian and Laureline
Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.
Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha's seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.
