‘Vessel’ Lands at Paramount Pictures

The studio will expand director Clark Baker's sci-fi short into a feature about airplane passengers who must deal with a deadly force.

‘Vessel’ Lands at Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures acquires Clark Baker's short film Vessel Paramount Pictures has acquired director Clark Baker's sci-fi/horror short Vessel for a feature-length adaptation. Stephen Susco (The Possession) will write the screenplay, with Clark Barker set to make his feature directorial debut.

The story centers on a group of airplane passengers who must fight for their lives when a deadly, supernatural force is discovered on board. The short employs a blend of practical creature effects with CGI, which was funded through Kickstarter. Vessel has been compared to such thrillers as Alien, The Thing, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Clark Baker is primarily known as a TV producer, working on comedy shows such as Funny or Die Presents and The Eric Andre Show.
