Following the death of Fast & Furious 7 star Paul Walker on Saturday, several of his fellow cast members have released statements regarding the tragedy. Vin Diesel remained silent until Monday, when he posted the following photo and message on his official Facebook page.
"'To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die.'
Pablo, I wish you could see the world right now... and the profound impact, your full life has had on it, on Us... on me...
I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were... on and off screen."
The actor also appeared at the Valencia, California crash site where Paul Walker passed away for a private vigil last night, where family members and several of the cast and crew members paid their respects. Hundreds of fans who had been gathered there throughout the day were cleared away by authorities, between 7 PM and 10 PM. Shortly after 10 PM, Vin Diesel addressed the fans from a sheriff's microphone.
"It's going to stay with me forever. I just wanted to say thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciate him."
We reported yesterday that Universal Pictures has delayed Fast & Furious 7, but it will not be abandoned. Production was on hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday when Paul Walker died. It has not been announced when the actors will resume work, and there is no word on if the July 2014 release date will be pushed forward.
