Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon are in final negotiations to star in New Line Cinema's upcoming comedy Four Christmases, it was announced today by New Line Production President Toby Emmerich.

In the film, Vaughn and Witherspoon will play a couple who struggle to visit all four of their divorced parents' homes on Christmas day.

Four Christmases is based on a screenplay by Matt Allen and Caleb Wilson. It is being produced by Spyglass Entertainment's Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum and Jon Glickman. Vaughn and Witherspoon will also produce.

Project will be overseen for New Line by Emmerich and production executives Mark Kaufman and Michael Disco.

Vaughn and Witherspoon have both worked on recent New Line projects, with Vaughn starring in the 2005 hit comedy Wedding Crashers and Witherspoon starring in the upcoming thriller Rendition, which is scheduled for an October 19th release.

Vaughn will next be seen in the holiday comedy Fred Claus. He has also starred in The Break-Up, Be Cool, Old School, Made and Swingers.

Witherspoon, who won the Academy Award in 2005 for the musical bio-pic, Walk the Line, has also starred in Legally Blonde I & II, Sweet Home Alabama, Election and the New Line comedy, Pleasantville.
