After a three-month midseason hiatus, The Walking Dead returned last night with its first episode of 2016, No Way Out, which included several shocking developments that will shape the back half of Season 6. AMC has released a new trailer and a clip from next week's episode, The Next World, airing Sunday, February 21 at 9 PM ET on AMC. If that wasn't enough, the network has also released the most "talked about" scene from last night's episode, but be warned, if you didn't tune in last night, there will be several spoilers below, so read on at your own risk.

In November's fall finale No Way Out, Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Carl (Chandler Riggs), Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam), Jesse (Alexandra Breckenridge) Sam (Major Dodson) and Ron (Austin Abrams) created ponchos covered in zombie guts, in order to sneak past the walkers undetected and make it to safety. One of the final moments of the finale showed that the perpetually-afraid Ron kept calling for his mother's name, foreshadowing that things might not go so well for this young family. As we can see in last night's "most-talked-about" scene, Sam's fearful behavior essentially cost his whole family their lives.

The scene in question shows this whole group trying to navigate a slew of walkers, when Sam suddenly stops, terrified, as we hear dialogue from Carol (Melissa Suzanne McBride) earlier this season, during her speech when she tried to scare young Sam. After begging his mother to let him continue on their journey, Sam's fears got the best of him, as he froze in place while walkers claimed his life, along with his mother Jesse and brother Ron. Before Ron's death, though he was responsible for one of the other most shocking moments from last night's episode involving Carl.

For those who follow the comic books by Robert Kirkman, many wondered if the show would address one of the most pivotal moments, which ultimately happened last night, where Carl is shot in the face, losing the use of one eye. The scene happened a bit differently in the show, since, in the comics, Carl was shot by Douglas Monroe, the Alexandria leader who wasn't used in the show, being replaced by a new character, Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh), who died in the fall finale. After Ron lost his mother and brother, he pulled a gun on Rick, but Michonne stepped in and stabbed him with his sword, but as he went down, he fired a shot that struck Carl in the face.

Along with these new videos, we also have photos from The Next World and last night's No Way Out. We know that one of the most iconic characters in the comic books, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), will debut in the season finale, where another beloved character may meet his demise. In the comics, Negan was introduced by choosing one of the survivors to kill at random, choosing Glenn (Steven Yeun), although we don't know for sure if the show will follow this exact story line. In the meantime, take a look at the videos and photos from The Walking Dead below.
