Walter the Farting Dog adaptation lands director Tim Hill
Director Tim Hill has signed onto direct Walter the Farting Dog for Paramount Pictures. The news comes just one day after the director boarded the Short Circuit remake for Dimension Films.

Walter the Farting Dog is based on the children's novel series written by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray, which centers on a family who has to put up with their increasingly flatulent dog. Joel Cohen and Alec Sokolow are writing the screenplay adaptation.

Mary Parent and Bradley Thomas are producing Walter the Farting Dog for Paramount, which recently acquired the project from 20th Century Fox. Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly, who were once set to direct the project, are still on board as producers.

We reported way back in October 2008, when the project was still at Fox, that all four of The Jonas Brothers were set to star, although they are no longer attached to Walter the Farting Dog.

No production schedule was given for Walter the Farting Dog, and it isn't known if Tim Hill will direct this project or the Short Circuit remake first.
