Legendary Pictures announced today that they have closed deals with Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Robert Kazinsky, Travis Fimmel and Paula Patton to star in Warcraft.

Travis Fimmel was mentioned as a front runner for the lead role in October, but an offer wasn't made at the time. We reported in September that Paula Patton was in talks for a role, although her deal only closed today. Other actors such as Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, Anson Mount and Anton Yelchin have previously been mentioned for unspecified roles, although their involvement isn't known at this time.

Duncan Jones is directing from a screenplay that he rewrote, which was originally drafted by Charles Leavitt. Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Alex Gartner and Charles Roven are producing, with shooting scheduled to begin next month in Vancouver.

The project is based on the popular multi-player online roleplaying game (MPORG) which debuted in 1994, set in a world where players take part in an epic war between the Horde and the Alliance. No story details for the adaptation have been given yet.
