According to Variety, Warner Bros. has preemptively bought an untitled pitch from "Monsters, Inc." scribes Dan Gerson and Andrew Stanton for Donald De Line to produce.

De Line's Warner Bros.-based production company is keeping the plot under wraps, but says the film will be a character-driven, conceptual comedy. He and Andrew Haas will oversee for the shingle.

On the studio side, Warner Bros. execs Lauren Craniotes and Dan Lin will oversee.

De Line left the Paramount lot this spring and signed a three-year first-look deal with Warners. He's developing CGI project Guardians on Ga'Hoole, based on Kathryn Lasky's children's fantasy series.

Gerson was one of the writers on Disney's upcoming Chicken Little and Imagine Entertainment and Universal's Curious George.

Stanton's credits include Finding Nemo, Toy Story and Toy Story 2.
