‘White House Down’ Trailer

Channing Tatum channels his inner John McClane in the first trailer for director Roland Emmerich's White House Down. The actor portrays John Cale, a cop who is touring the White House with his daughter, when 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is taken over by a paramilitary group who kidnaps the President of the United States (Jamie Foxx), making John the only one who can save the commander-in-chief's life. Take a look at the first footage from this action-thriller, along with two new posters featuring Channing Tatum looking worse for wear.

    This one looks awesome!

Channing Tatum gives off that Bruce Willis/John McClane vibe. Maybe Willis gave him some tips on how to be an awesome action hero during the GI Retaliation filming! haha

Thanks, @thedude-abides. Nick passed it on to me, and I took it up immediately. And for the record, I am a fan of Gosling, primarily because of Half Nelson, Blue Valentine, and Drive. From thereon, I was sold on the guy's acting ability, having overcome my admitted bias against the Notebook. I have yet to see The Believer or Lars in the Real Girl all the way through, so I'll let you know how that goes in time. :P

@the-movieghost Lol. I'll shop around for something soon. I'm not sure where @narrator falls into this equation (simlply because I'm not sure if he's a fan of Gosling or just the film itself), but I'm glad to see people are starting to notice what I've been talking about with this guy for so long. Simply put, dude's the man.

@narrator F*cking awesome avatar, by the way :)

Wow! Another forgettable CGI Filled Blockbuster. I'm getting tired of all the CG. I like it when it looks realistic but not like a playstation 2 game.

@jasonkat Olympus Has Fallen is a great action-thriller, is what A Good Day to Die Hard should have been, action from start to finish, the acting was great, some of the special effects need more work, but nothing harmfull. This trailer didn't show much, but I hope the second trailer will be better, let's be honest there's no one who could blow stuff like Roland Emmerich, there's no question the special effects will be amazing compared to OHF, the storyline on the other hand, could be questionable for this film, but let's hope for the best.

@ Okay sir, chill out. This trailer is terrible because it's sloppily edited and the tone shifts gears completely halfway through. But I'm not going to defend myself to someone who can't spell out the word "you".

Also, the second poster trumps the first.

                        Just saying.

One was about North Korea, and this one about Secrets imploding on American soil. Jury is still out to even say it looks better than Olympus Has Fallen. That's just me. I welcome this movie still, so I'll keep an open mind.

@ - Trailer looks amazing... ppl will complain for no reason - even a 10 sec stupid black screen is shown as a trailer but if it reads "C. Nolan" - ppl will give 5/5 and talk shift for 10 pages..

Gotta love you and your prof pic @narrator, ha ha. Though I would've expected @thedude-abides to have something Ryan Gosling-related set :P

Okay trailer nothing special. But it did show it will have two things better than Olympus Has Fallen. Better villains and better visuals. Other than that I'd be very surprised.

@2movieguys Calm dude. These incidents happen every time. I think this project was planned fist then it was Olympus Has Fallen. Can't remember. But this has happened many times.. so what happens? They go for it. There is no stealing at all. Back in 98, Armageddon and Deep Impact were both released in the same year at a near release like these two. White House Down nor Olympus Has Fallen are considered idea stealing, because they were produced almost at the same time. So.. it's just competition. Armageddon was the second released and it won

@kguy Agreed. As much as i love dubstep, it's been overused in way too many game and film trailers that it just becomes a chore.

BTW, I'm very disappointed in James Vanderbilt and Roland Emmerich. Rather than making something more unique. we now gonna have another "White House gets taken over by terrorists" cliche borefest of a movie. Way to waste your talent here guys.
