Will Samuel L. Jackson Return for ‘Die Hard 6’?

20th Century Fox is rumored to currently be seeking writers for Die Hard 6, which, according to Latino Review's El Mayimbe, will reunite Bruce Willis as John McClane with his Die Hard: With a Vengeance co-star Samuel L. Jackson as Zeus Carver.

Back in October 2010, we reported that Bruce Willis plans to retire his iconic John McClane character after Die Hard 6. Then in February 2013, just before A Good Day to Die Hard was released, the actor confirmed that the project is still moving forward. The last we heard about the sequel was in April 2013, when little-known writer Ben Trebilcook signed on to write the script. That report revealed that the project was tentatively entitled Die Hardest, with the story set to take place in Tokyo.

Now that 20th Century Fox is looking for a new writer, the Tokyo story line is likely being scrapped, since they plan on bringing Samuel L. Jackson's character, Harlem native Zeus Carver, back into the story. No director is attached at this time.

The franchise has taken John McClane all around the world, with 1988's Die Hard set in Los Angeles, 1990's Die Hard 2: Die Harder in Washington D.C., 1995's Die Hard: With a Vengeance taking place in New York, 2007's Live Free or Die Hard set in the nation's capitol again, and last year's A Good Day to Die Hard taking the New York cop to Russia.

Die Hard 6 comes to theaters in 2017.

They need to bring back John McTiernan to direct and they had better aim to make this a hard R rated movie. Have Bruce Willis retire the character of John McClane with the original director and a great writer.

None of you apparently understand the story of A Good Day to Die Hard. It wasn't like they had him go to a different country to fight the enemies just because like in the last 4. Sure the second one did that, then they brought in that guy from the first one's brother in the third to get back at him which was something I liked, that's how they tied it together. He went to Russia to keep his son out of trouble because he thought he was pulling off a crime scheme, then he found out he was a CIA operative doing a job and helps him out. The movie should've been longer though because honestly it's not like Die Hard to be under 2 hours, that was my only disappointment, plus they brought back Lucy, even though she only had a cameo in the beginning and end. And they finally had a reunion at the end as well which was something we've never seen before. I can think of many good reasons why the 6th was good. Also they should bring back Justin Long too, I read a few years ago long before the 6th one came out that he was supposed to return for it, but he didn't. All in all, putting him in a different country other than America isn't bad, and don't hate on Live Free or Die Hard if it's because it was PG-13 f*ck that sh*t, if you want the R rated version, then watch it unrated, it was actually just the same as the 3rd one if you think about it, a dynamic duo, first we had Sam and Bruce solving the crime together, then we had Justin and Bruce. I love the entire franchise and if they plan on bringing it to an end with the 6th one and they're trying to return Samuel L. Jackson, then they should just return Justin Long and his two kids for one last ride together, the ultimate family bond.

"Olympus has fallen" should have been "die hard" 4, or 5.

die hard 6 was the worse thing ever made. Lets pretend like 6 never happened. and move on to where 3 left off. while 4 was ok. i think going back to its roots 1 2 and 3. would be a step up.

I feel that "16 blocks" would have been a perfect die hard with John McClane, a beat up, warn out cop.

but with the way this sh*t has gone, its no wonder bruce wants to retired his character.

I often find the 3rd Die Hard more fun because of dynamic duo.

6th movie should be titled "Too Sick to Die Hard"

Well, it's a step in the right direction after that trash they released last year. The next step should be realizing their mistake and erasing that garbage, storywise, from the Die Hard franchise.

If they capture that 80s/90s feel that those original 3 films had then this could be the spark this franchise really needs. I wouldn't hold my breath though. The studio always seems to mess it up.

I sure hope he returns and keeping John in America. Besides both actors work well together.

No.... Just stop it, FOX. You done enough damage to the franchise as it is.
