Last month, The CW Network announced a new special airing on Tuesday, January 19 which will offer fans a sneak peek at some of Warner Bros.' new slate of DC Comics movies. Part of this special included a sneak peek at Wonder Woman, which has been in production since November and is set for release on June 23, 2017. Now that the special has aired, we have the full sneak peek right here for you to watch over and over again.

This special gave fans never-before-seen footage, and interviews with such stars as Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot, and directors Zack Snyder and Patty Jenkins - just a few of the creative forces behind the much-anticipated film franchise that will bring together the greatest collective of Super Heroes in the upcoming Justice League feature film. And because no Super Hero could make his or her mark without a truly formidable foe, the special also provides glimpses of DC's most famous Super Villains.

Last year a rumor surfaced that Wonder Woman will be set in three different time periods and settings. One of these settings is Diana's homeland of Themyscira, and it is rumored that the Italy portion of the shoot will be used for the Themyscira scenes. It was also recently confirmed that another setting is World War I, with the last setting being present day, which will connect the movie to her appearance in the upcoming Justice League Part 1.

Connie Nielsen most recently signed on to play the title character's mother Hippolyta. She joins a cast that also includes Chris Pine as the title character's love interest, Steve Trevor, along with Ewen Bremner, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis and Saïd Taghmaoui. No details have been given for the rest of the supporting cast quite yet. There have also been rumors that Sean Bean and Eva Green were playing the main villains Ares and Circe, but their involvement hasn't been confirmed either.

Patty Jenkins (Monster) is directing Wonder Woman from a screenplay by Jason Fuchs (Pan), with Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder producing. Principal photography is taking place on location in the UK, France and Italy. No plot details have been revealed yet. Take a look at the first footage from the highly-anticipated Wonder Woman, which hits theaters on June 23, 2017.
