To get fans ready for the Untitled X-Files Revival, Fox has released a new trailer for a marathon of The X-Files, which includes our first look at Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully and David Duchovny as Fox Mulder in action. The "marathon" won't actually be airing on Fox, but if you start with the pilot episode of the original X-Files series, and watch one episode a day for the next 201 days, on either streaming or DVD platforms, it will lead directly into the revival series debuting on January 24. Production is already under way on the Untitled X-Files Revival in Vancouver.

Thirteen years after the original series run, the next mind-bending chapter of The X-Files will be a thrilling, six-episode event series helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter, with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson re-inhabiting their roles as iconic FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. This marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history. Mitch Pileggi is also confirmed to return as Walter Skinner, along with William B. Davis as The Cigarette Smoking Man and new guest star Joel McHale, a news anchor who becomes an unexpected ally to Mulder.

The X-Files originally premiered in September 1993. Over the course of its nine-season run, the influential series went from breakout sci-fi favorite to massive global hit, and became one of the most successful television dramas of all time. The show, which earned 16 Emmy Awards, five Golden Globes and a Peabody Award, follows FBI special agents Scully and Mulder, as they investigate unexplained cases - "X-Files" - for which the only answers involve paranormal phenomena. For fans attending Comic-Con this year, there will be a scavenger hunt where fans will try to find X's left throughout San Diego. Will you participate in this 201-day marathon of The X-Files?
