Following the Entertainment Weekly magazine cover featuring Gillian Anderson (Dana Scully) and David Duchovny (Fox Mulder) from the Untitled X-Files Revival, the publication has released eight new photos, giving us our first look at two new cast members, Annet Mahendru and Joel McHale, along with more images of Mulder and Scully on their first case in more than a decade. We also get a look at the title page for the season premiere script, which is entitled "My Struggle", along with a behind-the-scenes shot of series creator Chris Carter in a production meeting.

As you can see in the first photo below, Mulder is looking rather disheveled, with David Duchovny revealing his character is in a "dark, dark place" when the series picks up. We have no details about how he got to this place. The last time we saw both Mulder and Scully together was in the 2008 movie The X-Files: I Want to Believe. The series premiere, "My Struggle", centers on Mulder and Scully investigating Annet Mahendru's character, who is believed to be a "possible alien abductee," according to Joel McHale's character, a conservative talk show host who gives Mulder and Scully the tip to investigate her.

David Duchovny revealed in March that the show will be a mix of mythology and "monster of the week" cases, with original The X-Files stars Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner) and William B. Davis (The Cigarette Smoking Man) also set to return. There have been rumors that Annabeth Gish (Monica Reyes) and Robert Patrick (John Doggett) are also returning for the series, but that has not been confirmed. While we wait for more details, check out the new photos below.
