The X-Files series creator Chris Carter started his own Instagram today, revealing the first photo from the set of his Untitled X-Files Revival, which is slated to debut Sunday, January 24 on Fox, following the NFC Championship Game. The photo reveals the first ever slate used on the show, which reveals a "UFO Test." Naturally, we don't know what that means without any context aside from the fact that they are testing VFX for a space craft. At least fans can expect to see some aliens right away when the show premieres.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their iconic roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in the new series, which was given a six-episode season. Mitch Pileggi (Walter Skinner) and William B. Davis (The Cigarette Smoking Man) are also confirmed to return, with Community star Joel McHale guest starring as a news anchor who becomes an unexpected ally to Fox Mulder. The new episodes were described by David Duchovny in March as a cross between The X-Files mythology and a "monster of the week" format.

We also reported yesterday that the second episode of the revival may be a sequel to the beloved Season 4 episode Home, considered by many to be one of the show's best episodes. While it has not been confirmed that this new episode, entitled "Home Again", is in fact a sequel to Home, it was written by Glen Morgan, who co-wrote the original "Home" episode with James Wong, and the episode reportedly centers on an odd and incredibly strong villain known as "The Band-Aid Nose Man." While we wait for more details on the Untitled X-Files Revival, check out the first photo from the set, and stay tuned for more as shooting continues.
