This summer, 20th Century Fox's X-Men prequel trilogy will come to a close with X-Men: Apocalypse, following 2011's X-Men: First Class and 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past. While we wait for the next trailer to arrive, ahead of this highly-anticipated May 27 release, IMP Awards has uncovered 10 new character posters, which gives us a closer look at some of the main mutants. These posters feature Professor X (James McAvoy), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Beast (Nicholas Hoult), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), Quicksilver (Evan Peters), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Storm (Alexandra Shipp).

Notably absent from this lineup are the title villain Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), and the last member of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen, Archangel (Ben Hardy). We're not quite sure yet if more character posters will surface, but there is still plenty of time until the May 27 release date, so we'll have to wait and see. We also don't know when the next trailer may surface, so stay tuned for that as well.

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-Men: Apocalypse. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign.

As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction. Reprising their roles from X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past are Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Rose Byrne (Moira McTaggert), Evan Peters (Quicksilver). New cast members include Oscar Isaac as the villainous Apocalypse, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.

20th Century Fox has slated X-Men: Apocalypse for release on May 27, 2016, putting it up against yet another sequel, Disney's Alice Through the Looking Glass, which also got a new trailer today. This latest X-Men movie will close out the prequel trilogy that includes X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past. It takes place in the 1980s, playing on the fears of nuclear annihilation and the ideas and ideology that was in play during the decade, so don't be surprised if there's a cameo from President Ronald Reagan, especially considering X-Men: Days of Future Past featured Mark Camacho as President Richard Nixon.
