Most stars don't complain about their movies before they open, especially when the release date is still months away. And especially when they are so deeply invested and involved in them as actor Vin Diesel has been on his last few projects. But the action icon is taking a page from his Fast 8 co-star Dwayne Johnson and airing his grievances in public. Though, his recent comments about XXX: The Return of Xander Cage might actually turn out better for the audience, especially those who've complained about the obscene running time a lot of sequels have clocked in at lately.

Vin Diesel has a heavy presence on social media, and has once again reached out to fans to share his thoughts on the first cut of xXx 3. He's not happy with what he saw. It has nothing to do with the quality of the movie. Or the storyline. Or his acting. It all comes down to the fact that this movie may be too short. He explains.

I don't want to say anything negative, but I have to be honest. If there was one complaint I had about xXx the first cut, it's too short. I wanted more. When people have been waiting fifteen years for this franchise to return, you can't just give them an hour and a half. It's not fair because you just want more."

This might actually be for the better as long as the story is cohesive. No one really wants to sit and watch Xander Cage for three hours, and it's better to leave them wanting more! Also, if the movie is a hit, this 90 minute runtime will allow for more screenings, which should make theatre owners and Paramount happy, as it potentially means the film could make more at the box office. Though, there is also the chance that Vin could wrap on Fast 8 and head back into the jungle for some reshoots, adding in a couple more action scenes to make the movie worth it for everyone who has waited so long for him to return in a sequel.

Xander Cage won't return to theaters until this January, which is still more than 5 months away. To help ease the wait, Vin Diesel not only shared his one gripe with the movie, he also posted a new action-packed sneak peek on Facebook. Here, he reveals a new kind of sport called MXMA.

What is MXMA exactly? Diesel describes it as "motocross martial arts". And he promises it will be at the center of one very exciting xXx 3 scene, calling it 'the coolest ever'. About this new take on a few different extreme sports, Vin had this to say.

"This idea of MXMA has been originated on this film, on xXx 3. It's, if you can imagine, motocross martial arts, and all the training that we've done up until this point, the months of training that we've done up until this point, is leading to this sequence that we're filming this week."

Pretty exciting stuff indeed! Vin Diesel returns to reprise the role of Xander Cage after sitting the first sequel out and letting Ice Cube take the lead in Part 2. D.J. Caruso directs this new adventure, bringing in his lean machine at less than 90 minutes. Joining Diesel in the cast are Ruby Rose, Nina Dobrev, Samuel L. Jackson, Donnie Yen, and Tony Jaa. While we've seen the first teaser trailer already, expect a full-length trailer to drop sometime this fall. To help tide you over until then, take a look at this sneak peek.
