In the newest category  at this year's 26th Annual Razzie Awards, mega-star Tom Cruise found himself in a lose/lose situation:  Competing for Most Tiresome Tabloid Target, his Anti-Psychiatry Rant lost out to his own antics with fiancé Katie Holmes to "win" the first Razzie ever awarded for off-screen behavior. In addition to himself, in this category Cruise took on "The Simpsons" (Ashlee, Jessica and Nick), bratty new mom Britney Spears, and notorious air-headed heiress Paris Hilton. Perhaps the only way Cruise might have lost this competition is if "All of the Above" had been offered as a voting option.

In the annual categories that have been part of The Razzies sine 1980, G.R.A.F. voters proved that Academy members aren't the only ones who can spot a small, worthy title among better known but less deserving films. They bestowed four of their top dis-honors on a little stinker that no one but they even seem to know existed. Written by and starring former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy, Dirty love took gold-spray-painted statuettes for McCarthy's work as both Worst Actress and Worst Screenplay, as well as copping Worst Director for McCarthy's former husband John Asher at Saturday's mock movie awards show in Hollywood. Described in the ceremonies as "the bastard child that might have resulted had John Derek, the Razzie winning writer/director of Bolero and Tom Green, the Razzie winning writer/director of Freddy Got Fingered, spent a winter together tending sheep on Brokeback Mountain," "Love" also became the second-lowest-grossing Worst Picture "winner" in Razzie history, with a total worldwide take of...$58,116.

Others taking their lumps with a sense of humor in this year's Oscar parody included: Rob Schneider as Worst Actor playing the title role of Deuce Bigalow: European Gigalo; Hayden Christensen, taking his second Worst Supporting Actor Razzie for portraying the same character ("Darth Vader as a Back Street Boy gone bad") in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith; Paris Hilton as Worst Supporting Actress for her frequently cheered death scene in House of Wax; The Jim-Carrey-free follow-up Son of the Mask as Worst Remake or Sequel; and Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman, for their less-than-bewitching chemistry in Bewitched, as Worst Screen Couple. A complete list of "winners" in included with this press release.

"Winners" were determined by mailing ballots to about 750 film professionals, film journalists and film fans from 41 U.S. states and 15 foreign countries. The Razzie Award itself is an intentionally cheapjack tchotchke featuring a golf-ball-sized, handcrafted RAZZberry atop a mangled Super 8 film reel that's spray-painted gold and has an estimated street value of $4.97. The Razzies were created in 1980 by John Wilson, author of "The Official Razzie Movie Guide." This year's Razzie ceremonies were held  at the historic Ivar Theatre in Hollywood, the new traditional 24 hours BEFORE the Oscars®.
