Twentieth Century Fox has released their slate of 2009 summer movie releases including X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, I Love You, Beth Cooper and They Came from Upstairs.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine - May 1st
Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.
In the sequel, the Museum of Natural History is closed down for upgrading and the exhibits are put into storage at the Federal Archives in Washington, D.C. Amy Adams will play an undetermined historical figure who has a crush on security guard Larry (Stiller).
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs - July 1st
In Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, much-loved characters from the worldwide blockbusters Ice Age and Ice Age: The Meltdown are back, on an incredible adventure... for the ages. Scrat is still trying to nab the ever-elusive nut (while, maybe, finding true love); Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) await the birth of their mini-mammoth, Sid (John Leguizamo) the sloth gets into trouble when he creates his own makeshift family by hijacking some dinosaur eggs; and Diego (Denis Leary) the saber-toothed tiger wonders if he's growing too "soft" hanging with his pals. On a mission to rescue the hapless Sid, the gang ventures into a mysterious underground world, where they have some close encounters with dinosaurs, battle flora and fauna run amuck - and meet a relentless, one-eyed, dino-hunting weasel named Buck.
I Love You, Beth Cooper - July 10th
I Love You, Beth Cooper chronicles the story of a nerdy valedictorian who proclaims his love for the hottest cheerleader in school during his graduation speech. Much to his surprise, the ridiculously popular cheerleader shows up at his door that very night and decides to show him the best night of his life.
They Came from Upstairs - July 31st
A group of children attempt to defend their Maine vacation home from invading extraterrestrial forces as the malevolent aliens make their way from the upper floor of the house to the ground level. John Schultz directs a script penned by British scribe Mark Burton (Wallace & Gromit). High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale stars in the 20th Century Fox production, with Tim Meadows, Kevin Nealon, and Gillian Vigman filling out the cast.
