Cormac McCarthy's 2006 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Road has been picked up for a big screen adaptation. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban's 2929 Productions will be producing the project.

The plot revolves around a father and son who wander through a war ravaged America in search of civilization. Though no deal has been signed at this time, it is likely that Viggo Mortensen will play the lead character in the film.

John Hillcoat will be directed Joe Penhall's script. The film will go into production sometime in January.
