Following its big box office win over the weekend, its possible that we could be seeing a sequel to 300: Rise of an Empire, which has already earned over $140 million worldwide in just a few short days. Although a follow-up has not been confirmed yet, star Sullivan Stapleton, who plays General Themistokles in the big-screen adventure, revealed that he hopes Warner Bros. brings him back, since there is much more story to be told.

"As for the sequel, it's a huge story, and those battles between the Greeks and Persians went on for years and years. I hope to God we do another sequel. If we don't, hopefully they put me in another film."

While it took almost exactly seven years to get this follow-up to 2007's 300 off the ground, the box office numbers prove that there is still an audience waiting for stylized action like this. 300 director Zack Snyder co-wrote the script for both movies along with Kurt Johnstad, but, the filmmaker is certainly busy with other endeavors at the moment, namely Batman Vs. Superman, which starts production this spring.
