Director Rob Zombie's new horror-thriller 31 has landed distribution with Alchemy, just as production begins in Los Angeles. The filmmaker debuted a brief teaser trailer and artwork back in July, but we haven't heard much about the project since then. The film stars the director's wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, along with Richard Brake, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Jeffrey Daniel Phillips, Lew Temple, Meg Foster and Malcolm McDowell.

The story centers on five friends who are kidnapped and held hostage in a place known as Murder World. They are forced into playing a deadly game known as 31, which unfolds on Halloween, as they must try to survive in the facility for 12 hours, while being hunted by a group of killer clowns. Here's what Alchemy CEO Bill Lee had to say in a statement regarding 31.

"Rob Zombie is a true artist and master filmmaker at the height of his game. With 31 he's creating yet another terrifyingly immersive and twisted world that will delight audiences. Alchemy's mission is to connect exceptional storytellers with existing and new fans, and we look forward to doing so with Rob's latest work."

Rob Zombie is directing from his own screenplay and producing with Andy Gould, Matthew Perniciaro, Michael Sherman, Eddie Vaisman and Mike Elliott. With production already under way, it isn't known if Alchemy has a release plan in place, so stay tuned for more on 31. Are you looking forward to Rob Zombie's latest?
