The 79th Annual Golden Globes was a subdued affair as COVID-19 surges forced the awards season's events to be either canceled or postponed, including the Critics Choice Award, the AFI Awards, the BAFTA Tea Party and the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s awards gala. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the winners via Twitter last night. As always, some award winners were givens, but we also had some pleasant surprises.
