Earlier today, we got the first A Quite Place 2 teaser. Now, Paramount has released a new poster for A Quiet Place 2. The studio is finally starting to, slowly but surely, pull back the veil of secrecy on this one. With the release date just a few months away, it's quite surprising they've managed to keep things shrouded in mystery for this long. But now, we've got this new poster which gives us a look at the returning cast from the previous movie as they make their way into uncharted territory, previewing what's to come in the highly-anticipated sequel.
A Quiet Place 2 finds Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe all returning as the Abbott family, along with the newborn baby, who arrived in the first movie. They're all seen here walking along the safe, sandy path that had been laid out in the original. As we can see, they're leaving the safety of the path and venturing into the unknown. What lies beyond the safety of the path? That seems to be the big question raised by the poster. Since the one-sheet doesn't come with a tagline, it's hard to extrapolate anything further from the image alone.
Along with the new teaser, the studio released A Quiet Place 2 first look image which ties into the poster. It features Emily Blunt's Evelyn taking her first steps off the sandy path. That's evidently going to be a big part of the adventure in Part II. For the most part, further plot details are being kept under wraps, but a full-length trailer is set to drop on New Year's Day, so we should be learning more here in the near future. Other new cast members include Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins, Inception) and Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy, Shazam).
A Quiet Place 2 centers on the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) who, following the deadly events that took place at their home, must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue to fight for survival in silence. To do so, they must journey into the unknown. This journey quickly brings them to terms with the fact that the creatures that hunt them are not the only threats that exist in the world.
The first movie proved to be something of a surprise hit, grossing $340 million at the box office on a comparatively small $17 million budget. Director John Krasinski wrapped A Quiet Place 2 in November. Krasinski also wrote the screenplay. For reasons that will be obvious to anyone who saw the previous movie, Krasinksi likely won't be returning in front of the camera to reprise his role this time around. We'll be sure to bring the trailer your way as soon as it's made available on January 1, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, be sure to check out the new poster for yourself below. A Quiet Place: Part II hits theaters on March 20, 2020, from Paramount Pictures.
