Paramount Pictures has moved the comedy A Thousand Words from January 13, 2012 to March 23, 2012, to capitalize on star Eddie Murphy's new gig hosting the 84th Annual Academy Awards on February 27.

A Thousand Words centers on Eddie Murphy's character, a man who learns he can only speak 1,000 more words before he dies. Cliff Curtis, Clark Duke, Kerry Washington, and Allison Janney co-star in the comedy, which is directed by Brian Robbins. A Thousand Words will square off at the box office against Lionsgate's highly-anticipated adaptation The Hunger Games.

Paramount has also shifted the release date of The Devil Inside to January 6, 2012. The Possession is currently the only other movie slated for a January 6, 2012 release.
