In a story from Variety, ABC is close to giving a pilot order to an updated version of the classic 1970s TV show Charlie's Angels.

Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) will be writing and executive producing this pilot. Sony Pictures TV is the studio behind it.

It is rumored that the success of the V reboot for ABC is what pushed the network to be high on a pilot order.

The original Charlie's Angels was on the air from 1976 to 1981.

Creator Aaron Spelling tried to bring back the show in 1988 but that never happened. Then in 2000, the Charlie's Angels movie was a hit at the box office. It brought us the sequel Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.
