ABC is moving forward a little early with one of its hottest pilots. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Flash Forward has been picked up by the network.

ABC handed out a 13-episode order for the series, which stars Joseph Fiennes, and is based on a novel by Robert J. Sawyer. The story will center on a global phenomena where every person in the world blacks out for two minutes and 17 seconds and has visions of the next six months in the future.

The series is being considered as a worthy heir to their hit series Lost, which will air its final season next year, and the network has already begun promoting Flash Forward before the official pick-up, with promos airing on Lost over the past few weeks.
