From extreme animal fanatics to religious extremists, from polygamists to the Amish, an ABC News special series examines people who live by their own rules and in their own worlds -- worlds that the average person may find unimaginable. Primetime: The Outsiders takes viewers behind closed doors to try and understand these bizarre living arrangements, odd obsessions and unusual lives. Anchored by Chris Cuomo, "Primetime: The Outsiders" will feature reports from an ensemble of ABC News anchors and correspondents. Primetime: The Outsiders will premiere Tuesday, August 15 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) and will continue to air subsequent Tuesday nights through TUESDAY, September 12 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

The first installment of Primetime: The Outsiders will explore people who live with wild animals, forgetting the dangers that are involved. John Quiñones reports on a couple who raised a chimp named Moe as the son they never had. St. James and LaDonna Davis raised Moe in their home as you would a child, teaching him to shower, dress in clothes and watch television. They even gave him his own credit card. Yet they discovered the harsh reality of animal behavior after a vicious disfiguring attack by another chip at a birthday party they threw for Moe at a wildlife sanctuary. And Jay Schadler reports on Timothy Treadwell, a man who learned to live among the golden grizzly bears of Alaska - majestic creatures who also happen to be North America's most ferocious predators. Treadwell began to see these animals as his friends, dropping his guard to the dangers involved. What happened next is all caught on tape.

Please Note: Primetime: The Outsiders replaces the Boston Legal episodes that had been scheduled through 9/12 for rebroadcast on the Network. The new season of Boston Legal begins the following week, on Tuesday, 9/19 @ 10PM.
