On Oscar Night, Sunday, March 5, New York-area members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will celebrate the 78th Academy Awards® at the historic St. Regis Hotel in New York City.

“This gathering is a great way for the Academy's members to celebrate the Oscars in classic Hollywood style," said the Academy's New York Events Committee Chair Arthur Manson. "In fact, our New York celebration in many ways will be reminiscent of the first Academy Awards banquet at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 1929.”

Following a cocktail reception in the Louis XVI Suite, invited guests will adjourn to the Versailles Room for dinner and viewing of the Awards Presentation.

The St. Regis Hotel, a 1904 Beaux Arts landmark, is located at 2 East 55th Street in Manhattan. New York's Oscar Night party is open to all east coast-based Academy members. For more information about the event, call 212-821-9255.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements for 2005 will be presented on March 5, 2006, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. PST. A one-hour red carpet arrivals show will precede the telecast at 4 p.m. PST.
