Just one month after Ben Affleck boarded the Warner Bros. thriller The Accountant, the supporting cast is coming together, with Anna Kendrick and J.K. Simmons in talks to join.

The story centers on a mild-mannered accountant (Ben Affleck) who spends his free time as a killer for hire. While Variety's report states that Anna Kendrick is in talks for an unspecified role, The Hollywood Reporter claims that her deal is still too far off, and it may not be finalized. No details were given for Anna Kendrick or J.K. Simmons' characters.

Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) is directing from a script by Bill Dubuque (The Judge), which landed on the Black List in 2011 but has been in various stages of development since then. Sony first picked up the project, but put it into turnaround, when Warner Bros. picked it up. Lynette Howell and Mark Williams are producing, with shooting scheduled to begin in January.

Anna Kendrick stars in the upcoming Disney musical Into the Woods, which opens on Christmas Day. J.K. Simmons is receiving rave reviews for the indie hit Whiplash. He will next be seen in Paramount's Terminator Genisys.
