After helping the Fantastic Four fight the Silver Surfer and Galactus, it's only natural to want your character to develop super-powers of her own, right?

Well, according to The Oklahoman, that's the case for Beau Garrett, who played the role of Captain Frankie Raye in Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer, released to DVD this week. In the sequel to the 2005 Fantastic Four, Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffud), the Invisible Woman (Jessica Alba), the Human Torch (Chris Evans) and the Thing (Michael Chiklis) face off against the intergalactic threat of the Silver Surfer and his master, Galactus.

Raye starts the film aligned against the Fantastic Four, but the chemistry between Raye and Johnny Storm (The Human Torch) is unmistakable. This is only appropriate, since in the comics Raye and Storm date, with Raye developing fire-controlling powers of her own. As Nova, Raye will then go on to replace the Silver Surfer in the role as Galactus' herald.

Garrett knew the story of Frankie Raye and Nova before taking the role in Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer. "She becomes Nova, so she gets super powers," Garrett said. "If they do make a third, I would love to come back, but who knows what's going to happen?"
