Horror fans have reason to rejoice, as a sequel to one of last year's greatest contributions to the genre is coming our way. Journalist and author Michael Gingold is set to release Ad Nauseam II: Newsprint Nightmares from the 1990s and 2000s later this year. The book will feature hundreds of ads for various horror movies from those decades, pulled from Gingold's personal collection. This serves as a follow-up to 2018's Ad Nauseam: Newsprint Nightmares from the 1980s.

According to a new report, Ad Nauseam II is set to hit shelves this fall on September 20 from 1984 Publishing. The book will feature more than 500 ads spanning movies from the 1990s and movies from the 2000s. The previous book specifically focused on horror ads from the 80s and covered classics such as Gremlins and Child's Play, as well as lesser known titles. The sequel will be taking a similar approach. Michael Gingold had this to say about the book in a statement.

"The response to the first Ad Nauseam was thrilling and gratifying. We heard from so many people who also collected movie newspaper ads as kids, and as adults, and shared the love of this lost pop-cultural art form. And since I had so many more ads still lurking in my archives, it seemed natural to continue this particular history of horror through the 1990s and 2000s."

Some of the titles included in the new book are Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Interview With The Vampire, Saw, Final Destination, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, the Dawn of the Dead remake, The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. The careers of filmmakers such as Guillermo del Toro, Peter Jackson, James Wan and Rob Zombie will be highlighted. An official logline for the book has also been released, which gives fans a pretty solid idea of what to expect.

"Feast your nostalgic eyes on more than 500 striking ads for the big-budget Gothics of the early and mid-'90s (Bram Stoker's Dracula, Interview with the Vampire), the slasher-film revival (Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Halloween: H20), gruesome franchises (Saw, Final Destination), remakes (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dawn of the Dead, The Ring), found footage films (The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity) and more. Plus, unforgettable critic quotes of the time, fascinating facts about the films' releases, and Michael's always insightful commentary!"

A cover for the book has also been revealed, which tips its cap to the early days of the internet and references are just some of the titles featured. It was also recently revealed that Michael Gingold has another book, Ad Astra: 20 Years of Newspaper Ads for Sci-Fi & Fantasy Films, arriving this year as well on September 10. Pre-orders for Ad Nauseam II: Newsprint Nightmares from the 1990s and 2000s are available now via Amazon and other retailers. Be sure to check out the cover art for yourself below.
