Adam Brody, Alia Shawkat, Catherine Keener and Allison Janney are in talks to join the family dramedy The Oranges.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hugh Laurie and Leighton Meester recently boarded the long-gestating indie pic that Julian Farino is directing, and Anthony Bregman, Glen Basner and Leslie Urdang are producing.

The script, by Ian Helfer and Jay Reiss, centers on a man (Laurie) who has a romantic relationship with the daughter (Meester) of a family friend. That turns their lives, and the lives of their families, upside down.

Brody will play Laurie's son, who falls for Meester but is shocked to learn she's having a torrid affair with his dad.

Shawkat is Brody's sister, thinking of moving out, while Keener plays their mother. Janney is Meester's mom.

The Oranges will begin production March 30 in New York.
