Warner Bros. has issued a May 23, 2014 release date for Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore's comedy Blended. The project will go up against the Fox sci-fi action sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

The story centers on a man (Adam Sandler) and woman (Drew Barrymore) who, after a horrible blind date, find themselves stranded at a family resort with their children from previous marriages. Joel McHale also stars in this comedy from director Frank Coraci. Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore previously starred in the romantic comedies The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates.

In related news, Warner Bros. shifted the sci-fi thriller Transcendence from an April 25, 2014 release date to April 18, 2014. It will go up against the Disneynature documentary Bears in its new release date.
