Bestselling author Mitch Albom has sold his very first script to Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison Productions. According to Variety, the untitled film is being set up as a starring project for Adam Sandler.

The comedy will revolve around the world of baseball. While it is said to have some "emotional elements", the plot has not been unveiled at this time. Before becoming a success novelist, Albom was a sports columnist for the Detroit Free Press.

There is no official word on when the untitled comedy will go before the cameras.
