Monster-in-Law and Matador: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Scott will shoot back-to-back features, signing on to star opposite Jennifer Lopez in Monster-in-Law for New Line Cinema and the indie Matador for writer-director Richard Shepard.

"Monster" centers on a woman (Lopez) who is set to marry the perfect guy (Michael Vartan) -- until she meets his mother (Jane Fonda), the world's worst mother-in-law. Scott will play the sidekick and confidant of Lopez's character. Robert Luketic directs, while Paula Weinstein produces with Benderspink.

Scott will segue to "Monster" after finishing a role in Matador opposite Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear, Hope Davis, Philip Baker Hall, Dylan Baker and Roberto Sosa.

"Matador" centers on an unlikely friendship between an assassin (Brosnan) and a gullible suburban couple (Kinnear and Davis). Scott will play the business manager of Kinnear's character. He next stars opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Martin Scorsese's The Aviator.
